Common questions about the calculator

What does "draw syringe to X units" mean?

It tells you how far to pull back the plunger on a standard 1mL (100-unit) insulin syringe. If the result is 20 units, pull back until the liquid reaches the 20 mark.

What size syringe should I use?

This calculator assumes a standard 1mL insulin syringe (100 units) — the most common size used in peptide research. Other sizes will have different markings.

How much bacteriostatic water should I add?

It depends on the concentration you want. More water = lower concentration and larger draw volumes; less water = higher concentration and smaller draw volumes. Common starting points are 1–2mL.

Why does my dose exceed the peptide strength?

The dose is larger than the total amount in the vial, which isn't physically possible. Lower the dose or choose a higher-strength vial.

Does this calculator account for reconstitution losses?

No. It assumes ideal conditions. Small losses from priming the needle or residual liquid in the vial aren't included.
